Questions about Heaven

What questions do you have about heaven?

Read John 14:1-6.

What is Heaven?

• Heaven is a place. Acts 1:10

• Heaven is a prepared place. John 14:3

• Heaven is identified with the presence of God. Hebrews 9:24Luke 23:43

• Heaven is promised and provided by God’s grace to all who belong to Him in Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:4-5

• Heaven is a perfect place. Revelation 21:3-4John 14:5

“Jesus never speculated about the future life; He spoke as one who was as familiar with eternity as one is with his hometown.” —NIV Commentary

Where is Heaven?

Heaven is UP! The Bible teaches of three heavens: 2 Corinthians 5:8Revelation 21:1-3, 5

  1. Atmosphere of earth
  2. Out of earth’s atmosphere into the galaxies
  3. Presence and dwelling place of God; our place as believers once we die

How do you get to Heaven?

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” —John 14:6 ESV

“He is the way to the Father because only He has an intimate knowledge of God, unmarred by sin. He is the truth because He has the perfect power of making life one coherent experience irrespective of its ups and downs. He is the life because He was not subject to death but made it subject to Him. He died to demonstrate the power and continuity of His life. Because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, He is the only means of reaching the Father. Jesus is the only authorized revelation of God in human form, and He is the only authorized representative of humanity to God.”—Merrill C. Tenney
