Day 40 – Saturday, November 9

Read Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Remember God, You are able! You have all power and all authority. You are the King of Glory, the One who reigns and will reign forever and ever. Your ways are incomprehensible! All praise is Yours!

Reflect Thank You in advance for what You are going to accomplish through Your church at Warren. Thank You for using me in this process to grow in You, to go for You, to gather others and give them hope in You, and to give to You. It is for Your pleasure and glory.

Renew I pray Your perfect will is accomplished through Your church at Warren and in the lives of Your people here. I ask that You use Warren and its people to proclaim Your name, Your power, and Your might to the next generation. May You do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine according to Your power at work within us, for Your glory and for Your name, Jesus, amen!

I live in the spirit of prayer. I pray as I walk about, when I lie down and when I rise up. And the answers are always coming. Thousands and tens of thousands of times have my prayers been answered. When once I am persuaded that a thing is right and for the glory of God, I go on praying for it until the answer comes.

Day 39 – Friday, November 8

Read Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:1-2

Remember Jesus, You are enthroned in the heavens at the right hand of God. You are the perfecter. I praise You as the One who designed me, formed me, and is creating a masterpiece in me. You are great and greatly to be praised!

Reflect I’m grateful, Father – grateful for the way You deal with me by teaching and instructing me. I’m grateful that I am complete in You because of what You did on the cross to make a way of forgiveness and mercy for me. I am thankful for You, Jesus, my perfecter!

Renew Help me lay aside the sin that easily entangles me. Help me persevere as I serve You. Help me keep my eyes fixed on You so as I run my race I can be secure and stable. Give me the joy that comes in knowing, serving, honoring, and obeying You out of love. Allow me to be a positive witness to Your name for Your glory. Help Your church at Warren cling to You, look to You, and honor You as we run this race with faith. In Your most holy name, Jesus, amen.

You cannot look in His (Jesus) face and doubt at the same time.

Day 38 – Thursday, November 7

Read Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.  Malachi 3:10

Remember Lord of Hosts, I give You praise today for Your faithfulness and blessings. I praise You for Your zeal for Your people, for Your desire to grow and shape those whom You love. Blessed be Your name, Oh God!

Reflect Testing brings trust – thank You. Giving causes release from self – thank You. Trust proves Your faithfulness – I’m blessed! Selflessness increases my sufficiency in you – I’m blessed again!

Renew Prove Yourself to me, Lord, as I step out in faith and give far above what I have given before to You for Your work. I want to grow in this area, but I will confess that I am afraid of letting go. I am afraid of what “might” happen. I ask You to extinguish my fears and help me see the joy and freedom of living a life that fully trusts in You. Help me soar above my fears and live for You and Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Faith is a response of the heart to the character of God.

Day 37 – Wednesday, November 6

Read In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.  Acts 20:35

Remember Abundantly kind, generous in all Your ways, sovereign over all, the great gift-giver, that is You, Lord Jesus. I praise You today as the once-for-all, perfect, sacrificial offering.

Reflect Words do not convey the depth of my gratitude for the precious gift of Your life for me. Thank You, Jesus, for blessing me with Your love, Your presence, Your Spirit, Your peace, and Your joy.

Renew As I give, allow me to be a blessing to others. Help me work diligently to bless others and to find joy as I live in Your presence, daily giving in Your name. Make giving a way of life for me. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

The will of God for your life is simply that you submit yourself to Him each day and say,

“Father, Your will for today is mine. Your pleasure for today is mine. Your work for today is mine.

I trust You to be God. You lead me today and I will follow.”

Day 36 – Tuesday, November 5

Read But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:35-38

Remember You are the God Most High. You are infinite, all-wise, all-knowing, ever-faithful, eternal, steadfast, and true. You are a just judge, full of forgiveness and mercy. You are unchanging and You are holy. I praise You today, Father, for the abundance of who You are.

Reflect Thank You for Your unfailing love, for rewards, Your compassion, and grace. Thank You for expecting better of me than I am able to offer on my own. Thank You for pushing me to be more like Jesus. As I reflect on who You are, I am reminded of who I am in You. Thanks be to God for “spilling over” onto me.

Renew Help me love and do good for others expecting nothing in return. Help me to be kind and merciful, careful not to judge or condemn others. Help me to forgive as I have been forgiven by You. Train me to give a good measure, pressed down, shaken and running over as a way of life in my actions and attitudes. I pray this to the God Most High, amen.

There was a day when I died; died to self, my opinions, preferences, tastes and will; died to the world,

its approval or censure; died to the approval or blame even of my brethren or friends;

and since then I have studied only to show myself approved unto God.

Day 35 – Monday, November 4

Read There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered.  Proverbs 11:24-25

Remember Jesus, You are the living water. You pour Yourself out for others and provide refreshment that lasts and lasts. Generous in all Your ways, You are a humble servant, the King of Glory!

Reflect I am grateful that as You increase in my life and become greater, I decrease and become less. Thank You for teaching me to scatter and disperse what I have been blessed with. Thank You for continuing to give me opportunities to see Your faithfulness as I learn to trust You more completely in all areas of my life.

Renew Don’t allow me to withhold from You what is justly due. Everything is Yours, and I desire to use Your resources to bless others and honor You. Help me become like You, Jesus, one who gives and gives and gives. Increase my desire to give from a generous heart, remembering that You will provide for all my needs over and above all I ask or think.

The only investment I ever made which has paid consistently increasing dividends

is the money I have given to the Lord.

Day 34 – Sunday, November 3

Read Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.  2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Remember You, God, are the Harvester. You created all things, and You cause all things to grow. You are a jealous God, desiring to be honored and worshiped above all things. I worship and honor You today as King and Lord.

Reflect You overwhelm me with Your sufficiency and goodness. The way You create, grow, mature, and nurture is amazing. Thank You for taking little and making much. Thank You for taking the imperfect and making it perfectly useful for Your kingdom. Thank You for making me and for growing me into a tool that can be used by You.

Renew God, make all grace abound in me. When others look at me, I want them to see You not me. When I give of my time, my talents, or my resources, allow others to see the sufficiency of Your grace in my life. Let them see an abundance of You reflected in me and lived out each day in everything I do, say, and think! Help me generously sow what You’ve so graciously given me as an outpouring of my love and gratitude for You. In the name of my Savior, Master, and Lord, Jesus, amen.

I was once young and now I am old, but not once have I been witness to Gods failure to supply my need when first I had given for the furtherance of His work. He has never failed in His promise, so I cannot fail in my service to Him.

Day 33 – Saturday, November 2

Read Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.  Deuteronomy 15:10

Remember As I remember who You are today, Lord, I am reminded of the way You gave Your best gift for Your people through Jesus. You are the sacrificial giver, the one and only selfless, all-sufficient, Almighty God who gives with love and never regrets it!

Reflect As I reflect on Your generosity toward people, I am thankful for Your example. Thank You for teaching me how to give. Thank You for the resources You’ve given me and for the command to give back to You with a happy heart.

Renew Will You help me let go of what I have with open hands and an open heart? Will You give me the desire to be as generous with the resources I have as You were as You gave Your all for me through Your Son? Make me more like You in my offerings and sacrifices. For Your renown I pray, amen.

If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area in his life.

Day 32 – Friday, November 1

Read From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.  John 1:16 (NIV)

Remember You are abundant. There is nothing lacking in You. Jesus, the grace-giver, You shower Your people with blessing after blessing.

Reflect Thank You for the way You take care of me and those I love. Thank You for the ways, both big and small, that I see You working to bless us. You always make a way for Your people and provide in unforeseen ways.

Renew I often take for granted the abundance of Your blessings. Please forgive me for that. Help me accept what You give as good, pleasing, and perfect and to be grateful for all things. Help me never complain that I lack anything, for in You there is no lack. Out of Your hand come blessing upon blessing. Show me today how I can give out of the abundance of what You have given me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Do you often feel like parched ground, unable to produce anything worthwhile? I do. When I am in need of refreshment, it isn’t easy to think of the needs of others. But I have found that if, instead of praying for my own comfort and satisfaction, I ask the Lord to enable me to give to others, an amazing thing often happens – I find my own needs wonderfully met. Refreshment comes in ways I would never have thought of, both for others, and then, incidentally, for myself.

Day 31 – Thursday, October 31

Read And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

Remember You are a generous God. You give and give and give! You are an intimate God. Desiring fellowship and relationship with Your children. You are a God of wonders … majestic and holy … reigning forever and ever.

Reflect I am blessed by Your giving nature. Thank You for making me the recipient of Your goodness and grace. Thank You for blessing me with the comforts of this life and for providing for all my needs.

Renew God, will You renew my heart and replace any tendencies of selfishness that I may have with an attitude of gratitude and generosity? I acknowledge that all I have is Yours. It is a result of Your unfailing love and kindness toward me. Help me use the resources You’ve blessed me with to glorify You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 30 – Wednesday, October 30

Read Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.  2 Corinthians 3:12-18

Remember God I praise You. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, glory and honor be unto You. You are accessible. You are eternal. You are incomprehensible, immutable, and infinite. You are a God who deserves to be praised.

Reflect Your glory is hard to fathom. Thank You for Your glorious nature. I can’t fully grasp Your glory on this side of Heaven, but trying fills me with wonder. Thank You for transforming Your people and making us look like Your Son, Jesus.

Renew Help me look more and more like You every day. Help me present a better version of myself to others so they can get a better glimpse of who You are in me. Hide me and shine through me, Jesus. The world doesn’t need me; it needs You. You bring freedom and redemption and life and peace. That’s what the world needs. Make my life a reflection of Your glory. Rid me of the yuck of selfishness, vain ambition and conceit, pride, jealousy, revenge, anger, ridicule, idolatry, and deceit and fill me with Jesus from glory to glory, amen.

I am the visible part of the invisible Christ. He is the invisible part of the visible me.

Day 29 – Tuesday, October 29

Read And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.  Matthew 9:35-38

Remember I praise You as the Lord of the Harvest. You guide people into truth, and Your Holy Spirit convicts and instructs. You turn the hearts of men by Your omnipotent (all-powerful) hand.

Reflect As I reflect on Your goodness today, I am reminded of the way You go after Your lost sheep. Thank You for going after me and for bringing me into Your kingdom. Thank You for continuing to go after Your lost people. Thank You for Your love for them.

Renew You have called me, as a believer, to tell others about what You have done in my life. Your Word says that we should “be ready always to give an answer to every man who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” (1 Peter 3:15). Make me ready, God. Help me. Give me the right words to say so that I can clearly tell others about You. I know the words don’t have to be eloquent, just understandable. Anoint and empower me to be a laborer for You. For Your glory, amen.

I have had the privilege of preaching the gospel on every continent in most of the countries of the world. And I have found that when I present the simple message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, with authority, quoting from the very Word of Godhe takes that message and drives it supernaturally into the human heart.

Day 28 – Monday, October 28

Read Since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.  Hebrews 10:22-25

Remember Jesus, You are the one, true High Priest. You are pure and holy. Your precious blood that was shed made You worthy to bear the name King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Reflect Thank You, great High Priest for being faithful to Your promise to save Your people. Thank You for my confession of hope I have in You and for the assurance of my faith through Your shed blood. Thank You for the opportunity to meet with, pray with, and encourage others through My Hope America.

Renew As we meet in homes to lead others to our hope, Father, I ask Your Spirit to go before us and prepare the way. We want to boldly, without wavering, proclaim You as High Priest, Jesus. Our effort is nothing without Your power, Your blessing, and Your strength at work in each of us. Please display Your power in us as we fulfill Your will to bring hope to the hopeless and healing to the broken. Also, make my heart pure so that I may be an instrument You can use to show others Your love … Your goodness … Your hope. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Perhaps the greatest psychological, spiritual, and medical need that all people have is the need for hope. If ever there was a time this country needed the intervention of God, it is now. We can and should pray for America as a whole, but remember that when God sets out to change a nation, He begins by changing people.

Billy Graham

Day 27 – Sunday, October 27

Read … We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 1:2-4

Remember … I praise You, Jesus for the work of faith, labor of love and steadfastness of hope You displayed on the cross. You were the One and only perfect Lamb of God who could take away the sins of the world. Praise to You, my Savior.

Reflect … Thank You for another day to share Your hope with others. Thank You for the homes around the CSRA that will be opened next week. Thank You for the “Matthews” You have raised up to share the Gospel. Thank You for those You have chosen to come and hear the true message of hope and salvation.

Renew … I ask You to pour out Your Spirit on the My Hope America teams in our community and around the globe. Give them boldness to declare the hope You have given them. Help them to be steadfast in this work of faith and labor of love knowing that Your Holy Spirit is the One who will draw hearts and change lives. Help us all to be vessels … channels of Your love and goodness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The task ahead of us is never as great as the power behind us.

Day 26 – Saturday, October 26

Read … You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. Uphold me according to your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope!  Psalm 119:114,116

Remember … You, Oh Lord, are a shield and shelter. You are my protector and defender. I offer You praise as the guarder of my hope and salvation.

Reflect …  Thank You for the opportunity to share my hope with others. Thank You for using me to help advance Your Kingdom. Thank You for placing me in the paths of those who need Your hope.

Renew … Help me to boldly proclaim Your hope without fear of rejection or persecution. When I am rejected or persecuted for Your sake, cause me to take refuge in You. Help me to keep silent so that I may show love and grace to those who do not know You. Help me to allow You to be my defender and to be “blessed” when persecuted, knowing that the kingdom of heaven is my reward because of the shed blood of Jesus who was persecuted for my sake. In Whose name I pray, amen.

Today, many people are adrift morally and spiritually, confused and fearful — not knowing who they are or where they are going. We live in a world dangerously torn by hate and violence and conflict, and yet we feel powerless to do anything about it. Is there any answer? The Bible gives a resounding “Yes!” There can be hope, and there can be changed hearts and a changed society as we yield ourselves to Christ.

Billy Graham

Day 25 – Friday, October 25

Read … Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. And there I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. And there she shall answer as in the days of her youth, as at the time when she came out of the land of Egypt. Hosea 2:14-15

Remember … I praise You God as the One who goes after His lost ones. You are steadfast and faithful to Your promises. You make all things new. You turn darkness into light, the desert into a haven, and trouble into hope.

Reflect … I cannot express my gratitude enough to You for finding me in my place of wilderness and bringing me to a place of abundance and rest. Thank You for turning my “Valley of Achor” (trouble) into a door of hope. Thank You for providing for my needs even when I don’t deserve Your provisions.

Renew … The world is a wilderness (a desert). It is dry and cracked and void of the living water of Jesus. Will you come, Jesus? Come into the hearts of many during My Hope America. Make Yourself known to millions across this country and around the world. Make Yourself known to people in my neighborhood, at work, at the gas station, and in the shopping malls. Speak tenderly to them and bring them into Your Kingdom for Your name and for Your glory. Amen and amen.

Pray because God has commanded it. Pray because Christ died to give us access to the Father.

Pray because God is worthy of your praise and thanksgiving. Pray because you need His forgiveness

and cleansing and His guidance and protection. Pray because others need your prayers.

Billy Graham

Day 24 – Thursday, October 24

Read … If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

Remember … You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. You are El Roi, the God who sees. You are Adonai, my Lord and Master. And You are the great I AM, the constantly pursuing, perfect and ever-present God who desires relationship with Your people. Praise be unto You!

Reflect … Thank You for desiring to heal our land. Thank You for seeing us. It is a blessing to know Your eyes are on us and You are fully aware of our needs. Thank You for pursuing Your people even when we have strayed far from You.

Renew … Bring Your healing, Father. Cause Your people to humble themselves before You. Bring us to the end of ourselves so that we cry out to You so Your healing will come. Have mercy on us, Lord, according to Your steadfast love. Remove the blinders from the eyes of those who do not know You. Remove them from our government and media and bring them to repentance. Almighty Sovereign Lord, help us. All our hope is in You. Amen.

Day 23 – Wednesday, October 23

Read … May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.  Romans 15:13

Remember … You are the God of hope — the source of hope. I praise You today as the initiator of the covenant that brought hope to the world. I praise You as the mediator of this covenant of hope. And Jesus, I praise You as the One who fulfilled this covenant with Your loving sacrifice.

Reflect … I thank You for the rest I receive because of the hope I have in You. Joy and peace are also benefits of Your hope, and I am grateful. It is a blessing to know that my confident and sure expectation is in You, Jesus!

Renew … Please show me those who need Your hope today, God. Give me eyes to see and a heart to discern the brokenness that surrounds me. Then give me boldness to declare Your hope to a lost and dying world. Continue to soften hearts and make them ready to receive Your hope. In the One whose name is Jesus, amen.

Hope, the guaranteed expectation enabling believers to look forward with joy, is in truth one of the greatest themes of Christianity and one of the supreme gifts of God.

Day 22 – Tuesday, October 22

Read … For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. Titus 2:11

Remember … I praise you this day as the God of my salvation. Jesus, You are my redeemer — the One who paid in full my sin-debt. You are full of mercy and abundant in grace. To You, oh Lord, I give honor and glory and praise!

Reflect … Thank You, God, for Your perfect sacrifice through Your Son, Jesus. He made a way for all who believe. Thank You for the mercy that was set forth for me on the cross. Thank You for the continual grace and mercy I receive as I repent of my sins daily. Thank You for the forgiveness and cleansing I receive when I come to You and confess my unrighteous acts.

Renew … So many do not know what Your forgiveness feels like. They do not understand the depth of their depravity and the need for a Savior. Will You open the eyes of their hearts and make them aware of their need for You? Our world is so ungodly, and many are in bondage to sin. Show me who needs the freedom that comes from Your forgiveness, and help me open my mouth to them and point them to You. I pray for soft and receptive hearts for all who You would have me tell about You. In the name of my blessed Redeemer, amen.

There is only one message in any generation … that God loves you, Christ died for you,

He rose from the dead because of you. There must be a decision here and now in this life.

That’s what My Hope is all about.

Day 21 – Monday, October 21

Read … For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Remember … God, You are love. Your very nature is love and everything You do finds its foundation in love. Your love compelled You to give Your only Son, Jesus, for the sins of the world. I praise You this day for Your unfailing and incomprehensible love.

Reflect … Thank You, Jesus, for the love you poured out on Calvary. Thanking You all the days of my life will not be enough for so great a salvation. My heart is filled with gratitude for the blessing of being able to spend eternity with You because of Your unconditional, extravagant love for me.

Renew … I ask You to help me love the way You love. Please give me eyes to see those who need You and invite them to gather for My Hope America. Give me boldness in asking my friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone else You would have me to ask. Give me sensitivity to Your Holy Spirit so I can discern who You would have me invite. Give me a heart for those who do not know You and a boldness to share my story of salvation with them. In the power of Jesus, amen!

God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died,

it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you.’
